Grand Opening Seabreeze Apartments Community Room

Seabreeze Apartments celebrated the grand opening of a new addition to the apartment community. Vada and Mickey Carroll, managers of the apartment complex, are proud to open the new addition, a community room, to the public on April 1st at 3:30 PM. A creative name competition is being held to select a name for the community room. The room was remodeled from an existing storage area to a spacious learning and gathering area. The purpose of the room will be to provide a safe place for children and families to gather, play, research, read, and learn. The development of the new space was a collaborative effort between the Crescent City Police Department Crime Free Multi-Housing Program and the Del Norte Family Resource Center/First Five. After the Seabreeze Apartments completed the process and graduated the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program, it was the goal of the community to host a safe place for family and friends to gather.

The new community space will host books, games, and computers for children to learn as well as provide a location for neighborhood activities and classes. A special thanks to:

  • First Five, Woods Plumbing, Vanarsdale Roofing, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Tom Sergeant for donated supplies.
  •  Rod Nielson with Totem Villa Apartments and Connie Nicolet with Sea Breeze Apartments for additional donated supplies.
  • Community residents, Jeff Taylor and Skyler Steward, donated their time and skills to make this room possible.

This project is a great example of a community working together to meet a common goal that will serve the needs of our local families.
