VOLUNTEER – CAMP HOST
The City of Crescent City is seeking a volunteer camp host at Lighthouse Cove RV Park. This is a volunteer position, with no wages or employment benefits. The City will provide Volunteer Camp Host with a free campsite at Lighthouse Cove RV Park, including water, sewer, electricity, WiFi and cable services.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities of the Volunteer Camp Host are to provide basic camp host services including: registering guests, collecting fees for space rentals, taking reservations, locking and unlocking facilities as necessary, notify City staff of any damages or need for repairs, and reporting any incidents to City staff or the Police Department as appropriate.
APPLICATION PROCESS: A City of Crescent City application must be received in the Administration Department by 5:00 p.m. on the final filing date. Application materials are available at City Hall on the Job Board or on the City’s website at www.crescentcity.org.
FINAL FILING DATE: 5:00 PM, Friday, April 24, 2026
The City reserves the right to extend the filing deadline as necessary.
THE SELECTION PROCESS Subsequent to a position offer and prior to being selected, a candidate must successfully pass a fingerprint and background check, physical exam and drug testing. Candidate must also have an approved recreational vehicle disclosure form and occupant disclosure form.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Age: Must be 18 years or older
Education: High School Diploma, GED, HiSET or equivalent is required.
License/Certificate: A California Driver’s License or equivalent if resident of another state and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
Essential Functions / Knowledge and Skills: Camp Host will provide approximately 16 volunteer hours per week. Hours and days will be approved by the Recreation Director, or by the City Manager and will perform the following essential functions:
Civic Purpose: Camp Host is volunteering his or her services to the City in furtherance of a civic purpose. Camp Host will be interacting with visitors to the community by registering them, answering questions, providing information about places to visit, shop, eat and explore.
