The mission of the City Clerk/Administrative Analyst’s office is to be a valuable resource for citizens, staff, and Council in relation to all City issues. As the primary access point for citizens to interact with local government decision makers, the goal of the City Clerk’s office is to provide transparency for what we do and enhance understanding of why and how we do it by being, efficient, professional, and responsive.

The City Council meets every first and third Monday of the month in the Board Chambers of the Flynn Center, located at 981 H Street, Crescent City, California.  Should one of those meeting days fall on a holiday, the meeting will be held that Tuesday.

Crescent City uses a Council-Manager form of municipal government. Council Members are elected to four year terms.

The City Council typically meets every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at the Flynn Center on 981 H St. in Crescent City. Special meetings and workshops may be held at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 210 Battery St.

The Community Development Department encompasses Code Enforcement, Economic Development and Planning for the City of Crescent City.

Crescent City Fire & Rescue is an all risk, volunteer fire department serving the City of Crescent City and the greater Crescent City area. The Department is the product of an operational merger by agreement between the City of Crescent City and the Crescent Fire Protection District that occurred in 2015.  This agreement between the two jurisdictions provides many benefits to the community including shared efficiency through purchasing, staffing, and cross jurisdictional response where personnel, apparatus, and equipment are utilized from the nearest facility to an incident regardless of jurisdictional geographic boundaries.

The Finance Department's mission is to provide sound financial management to the City, safeguard the City's resources, comply with legal requirements, and provide timely and accurate information to the City Council and the public.

The mission of the City of Crescent City Housing Authority is to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities to all qualifying families and individuals. We are committed to meeting the housing needs of our community in a manner that is respectful, responsible, and professional.

The department’s mission is to use fair and equitable practices to hire, develop, support and retain a highly qualified workforce within the City.  Part of Human Resources’ challenge is to set the City of Crescent City apart from other employers as an employer of choice, so that we may be able to recruit the best and brightest candidates into our City family.

he mission of the Information Systems Department is to provide reliable technical support, high quality technology-based services and feedback, and provide continuing education for City staff.

Shoreline RV Park is centrally located near downtown Crescent City within walking distance to the Crescent City Harbor, restaurants, and shopping. Many attractions are also in close proximity to the park such as the Battery Point Lighthouse, Kids Town Playground, California Coastal Trail, B Street Fishing Pier, Crescent City Harbor Boat Basin and the Marine Mammal Center.

The police department serves and protects our communities with respect, integrity and reverence for the law. In addition it serves our communities with leadership, fairness, and consistency to build trust and cooperation between our community members and the police department.

The Public Works/ Community Development Departments Mission is to support and enhance the quality of life for residents but delivering responsive and efficient services to our community and maintaining reliable and cost-effective public works facilities and systems in a manner that emphasizes customer satisfaction, public service and good stewardship of natural, fiscal, and staff resources. To accomplish this, the department provides a wide range of basic community services condensed into of six divisions. Administration/Engineering, Parks and Facilities, Corporation Yard/Equipment Operations, Street Maintenance, Water Enterprise and Wastewater Enterprise. Basic services include Capital Improvement project design and management, mapping, park and City-owned facility maintenance, street maintenance and repair, traffic safety, storm drains, sidewalks, water intake, treatment and distribution, and wastewater collection, treatment and discharge.

The City of Crescent City believes a healthy and thriving community has access to a variety of recreational activities.  In 2019, City of Crescent City created this new department to highlight the city’s dedication to building a community connected to nature, prioritizing active lifestyles and increasing the recreational opportunities for citizens and visitors to our city.

The Crescent City Water Department provides water and sewer services to Crescent City and the surrounding area.

The Crescent City Water Quality Laboratory is a CA ELAP certified laboratory (#1465) that provides testing for the Crescent City Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Crescent City Water System, industrial users, public water systems, and private well owners.
